Day Care Services

Day centres and lunch clubs providing social interaction and activities. In addition to referral through Social Services, we have private places available.

Home Care Service

Assisting older people in the community remain independent in their own homes.

Community Dementia Service

Providing day care centre places for those with dementia in the north of the county.

Meals on Wheel Scheme

This service runs in various locations throughout the County with meals being delivered by our dedicated volunteers and fully supported by office staff.

Health Promotion Service

Health Promotion Officers hold exercise classes, promote healthy eating and provide invaluable information to prevent falls.

Rural Access Project

This service organises trips to a variety of venues including shopping and lunch allowing another avenue for social interaction.

Sustainable development in and around Northumberland National Park is about promoting ways of living and working that allows people to enjoy life, businesses to prosper and communities to thrive. At the same time, it is about enhancing the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of the National Park and affording opportunities for understanding and enjoyment of its special qualities by the public. Information and Advice

This service is open to people over 50, their families and carers and gives advice on a wide variety of topics including welfare benefits; money matters; housing; residential/non-residential care; legal issues; local traders. The telephone advice line is open Monday to Thursday from 10am to 1pm on 08450 950150.

Friendship Line

This service offers a regular telephone call to isolated or lonely people in the county of Northumberland.

Men's Groups

Currently two men's groups, for isolated males who prefer this type of social interaction which caters for various interests. The group participate in numerous activities and have regular outings.

Private Domestic Service

The Private Domestic Service provides housework, laundry, ironing, preparing meals, shopping as well as other tasks. This service is completely separate from the Home Care service and has its own team of Domestic Support Workers.

Advocacy Service

This service is free, confidential, impartial and available countywide. It provides a range of advocacy services, including one to one case advocacy, trains volunteers and encourages awareness of all forms of advocacy.
